Sport analytics has gained momentum and has demonstrated to be a powerful tool for distinct purposes like enhancing performance, preventing injuries or supporting strategic decision-making. As the field evolves, the volume and variety of data collected in sports also increases in complexity (e.g., through IoT devices). Nevertheless, with just the data available from competitions, meaningful insights can be extracted.
This work focuses on swimming, particularly on data collected from official competitions, including swimmer demographics (age, gender, etc.) and event-specific measures such as reaction times, final and split times. We present an interactive dashboard developed in R Shiny that provides detailed exploratory analysis, clustering algorithms to categorize and profile races and swimmers, and probabilistic simulations to predict swimmer performance. The dashboard offer valuable information that could support both swimmers and coaches.
