The Spanish men’s professional ACB is the top national league in Europe. It attracts most of the best foreign players outside the NBA and also accelerates the development of Spanish players. However, this sporting excellence is not reciprocated by an advanced treatment of the data generated in the games. On the contrary, their use is still very rudimentary. The official ACB website provides access to data for anyone who is interested, but they are only represented in a static tabular form. As a consequence, it is difficult to gain any valuable insights from them. This research presents a highly useful interactive dashboard, which makes it possible to visualize and explore box score and play-by-play data. Free code to reproduce results is available as part of the open R package BAwiR. All this work is endorsed by two publications in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Big Data and one publication in the basketball magazine Gigantes del Basket.
